Professional Career
2000: Selected in the fifth round of the 2000 NFLEL free agency draft Signed by the
Miami Dolphins as a free agent Released during training camp 1999: Released by
the Atlanta Falcons during training camp 1998: Played in 11 games and added four
special teams tackles...On the inactive list for five games and in two (San Francisco
& Denver) playoff contests...Placed on the inactive list vs. S.F. (11/15) after
injuring his hamstring a week earlier at New England (11/8)...Returned to special teams
action at St. Louis (11/29)...Returned to inactive list for the final three games of the
season (at New Orleans, at Detroit and Miami) and in the first round of the playoffs vs.
San Francisco (1/9/99) before lining up on special teams in the NFC Championship game at
Minnesota (1/17/99)...For Super Bowl XXXIII vs. Denver (1/31/99) was back to inactive list
1997: Chris first season in the pros was mainly spent playing on special
teams and learning the safety position from veterans William White and Devin Bush Bayne
was inactive for the first two weeks of the season because of a lingering hamstring injury
sustained in the preseason and made his debut vs. Oakland on special teams He
recorded his first pro tackle from his safety position vs. S.F Made the Falcons
roster after a strong preseason showing where he collected 10 total tackles, including 5
tackles, an interception, and a pass defensed against the Redskins.
College Highlights
Moved to outside linebacker in his last year as a senior as Fresno State and responded
with 77 tackles, six passes broken up, three quarterback sacks, and an
interception...Played two years as San Bernardino Valley Junior College as a safety with
seven interceptions (one returned 80 yards for a touchdown).
Personal
Native of Riverside, CA attended North High School. Single. An outside linebacker and
running back at North High School in Riverside, CA., he also ran track, performing in the
100 meters and long jump. He was highly recruited by the likes of Arizona, Utah, Nevada,
and Pittsburgh. Biology major at Fresno State, he would like to attend Medical school
after his football career is over. Christopher hails from a family of two sons of Ralph
and Deborah Bayne.
Criners Critique
He is very aggressive and is a cross between a linebacker and a safety. Will fill
the nickel spot and the strong safety spot. Is known throughout the league as an
aggressive hitter.
