– The Rage exploded for
four straight touchdowns and stayed undefeated Saturday by
topping the Demons 26-14 at the Florida Citrus Bowl.
San Francisco, which took an early 7-0 lead thanks to a 5-yard
touchdown pass from Mike Pawlawski to tight end Brian Roche,
dropped to 1-1. Orlando stayed unbeaten at 2-0.
The Rage responded to Roche’s score on the next possession
with a 51-yard touchdown throw from Jeff Brohm to Mario Bailey.
Derrick Clark punched in Orlando’s first successful PAT ever
on the next play.
Omar Brown scooped up a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and
strolled into the end zone to put the Rage ahead for the rest of
the evening. Brian Shay added a 28-yard touchdown run in the
second quarter and Clark ran in a 7-yard scoring run in the
third.
Jimmy Cunningham grabbed a touchdown pass for the Demons.
Orlando’s defense repeatedly flustered the Demons. Brown
ripped a end zone pass out of Calvin Schexnayder’s hands near
the end of the first half to swing momentum entirely into the
Rage’s favor. |
