Seventh-round draft choice, 194th selection overall, of San Diego following his 1997 senior campaign, one of just six players taken by Chargers in entire draft . Played in two AFC West games with San Diego during rookie season and likely would have logged more playing time, but claimed on waivers during the year by Philadelphia .
