Didnt complete his collegiate eligibility at Wisconsin after broken leg threatened to delay senior year, which he subsequently bypassed . Claimed in sixth round of the 1995 NFL draft by Saints as the 184th overall selection . Also signed and auditioned for Green Bay in 1998. 1997: Spent third season with New Orleans, but wasnt active during the regular season. 1996: Started four times in second Saints campaign, snagging 15 passes in 15 games for 182 yards . First pro opening assignment was at Cincinnati in September and he caught two passes for 25 yards and scored for the only time in his career later that year against Chicago, a 28-yard hookup for his only reception of the day. 1995: Began the season on the reserve list while continuing to rehabilitate from broken leg, then played in final eight contests . Ended positively with six catches for 78 yards. College: Was among the top three in Wisconsin history in the major statistical categories for receivers when he refused fifth season to enter pro ranks . Led Badgers in receiving all three years in action, finishing second in yardage (1,974) and touchdowns (15) and third in receptions (119) . Broken leg occurred two days before season opener with Eastern Michigan Did set one-year record with 920 receiving yards and shared the single-season mark with 54 catches with Al Toon, provoking second-team all-Big Ten honors .
