ESPN Radio to Broadcast Chicago Enforcers Games in 2001

ESPN Radio 1000 (WMVP-AM) will be the radio home of the Chicago Enforcers, it was announced today. The announcement was made on ESPN's Huge Show by World Wrestling Federation Entertainment Chairman Vince McMahon , XFL President Basil DeVito and the Enforcers head coach Ron Meyer.

"We think this will be a great relationship," says Rich Rose, Acting Vice President and General Manager of the Chicago Enforcers. "They have had a great impact on the Chicago sports scene and we look forward to working with them. ESPN Radio 1000 will be a great place to have as the radio home for the Chicago Enforcers."

ESPN will broadcast the Enforcers 10-game regular season plus any playoff appearances. Besides the Enforcers, ESPN Radio also broadcasts the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago White Sox.

"From a personal and professional standpoint, I believe the XFL will generate enough attention to warrant to warrant any business becoming involved with the product," said ESPN Radio 1000 General Manager Bob Snyder. In the case of Chicago's ESPN Radio 1000, the aggressive personality of the league fits well with our overall on and off air operation."

"From a programming standpoint, the relationship with the Enforcers is an automatic touchdown," says ESPN Radio Program Director Mitch Rosen. "The excitement they will bring to the city, along with an in-your-face interactive radio broadcast, will gain victories all season long for both of us.
