Former Kansas City Chiefs and NFL
Europe running back Ron Dickerson joins the Outlaws
staff after two years as the running backs coach at
Alabama State University, where he coached under his
father, former Temple Head Coach Ron Dickerson.
Dickersons college career spanned four years at the
University of Arkansas from 1989-92, where he led the
Southeastern Conference in yards per catch his senior
year and garnered Second Team All-SEC honors, behind
Andre Hastings and Garrison Hearst.
The Kansas City Chiefs signed Dickerson as a free agent
in 1993, and he played three seasons for Head Coach
Marty Schottenheimer as a third-down back and kickoff
return specialist, learning from NFL Hall of Famers Joe
Montana and Marcus Allen. He was selected to the 1995
NFL Pro Bowl in Hawaii, but could not return kicks due
to a knee injury.
In 1996, the Philadelphia Eagles signed Dickerson and
allocated him to the Scottish Claymores of NFL Europe,
where he played under Outlaws Head Coach Jim Criner and
Offensive Coordinator Vince Alcalde, helping the team to
the World Bowl 96 title. The following season,
Dickerson completed his playing career for the London
Monarchs.
Born August 13, 1971, Ron began his coaching career at
Temple under his father before moving on to Alabama
State in 1998 and 1999, serving as running backs coach
and running game coordinator. Ron and his wife, Kendreah,
have one daughter, Kristen (6) and they reside in Las
Vegas. |
