Vince Alcalde joins the Outlaws
after five years with Jim Criner and the NFL Europe
Scottish Claymores, where he was Offensive Coordinator
the last two seasons. The 1999 Claymores boasted one of
the leagues most prolific attacks, while becoming the
highest-scoring offense in Claymores history. The 2000
Claymores advanced to the NFL Europe Championship Game,
losing 13-10 on a last-second field goal. Alcalde spent
his first three years with the Claymores as receivers
coach, helping develop the talents of wide receivers
like Sean LaChapelle (1996 World League MVP), Yo Murphy
(1996 World Bowl MVP) and Scott Couper (1997 World
League National Offensive Player of the Year).
A former quarterback and teammate of Outlaws defensive
coordinator Mark Criner, at Boise State University,
Alcalde received his Bachelor of Science in Education in
1989, and an MED in Education from Utah State University
in 1993.
Alcaldes coaching career began as an assistant at
Boise State from 1989-91, before moving to Utah State
University from 1992-93 and coaching at both schools
under the tutelage of former Seattle Seahawks
quarterback Jim Zorn. In 1995, Alcalde was appointed
offensive coordinator under head coach Walt Criner,
brother of Jim, at Arizona Western College. His Western
Arizona offenses were known for their explosive style of
play, and finished first and third in the conference in
1994 and 1995.
Born August 24, 1965, Alcalde resides in Las Vegas and
enjoys golf, fishing and hunting in his spare time. |
