College Highlights
Played a key role in Ohio State’s defensive success in ‘97 season, although not as a starter...Backed up Kevin Johnson at the linebacker position and played the last three quarters of the Penn State game after Johnson went down with a sprained ankle...Started the following week vs. Indiana and had a career-high nine tackles...Finished the season with 35 tackles, including 27 solos...Also had two tackles for losses, a sack, two passes defended and a forced fumble...Transferred to Ohio State from Phoenix Junior College in the spring of 1995...Came to Ohio State as a safety but was converted to linebacker to take advantage of his combination of size and exceptional speed...Appeared in 11 games and possessed 14 tackles in ‘95 season.

Played fullback, defensive end and linebacker in high school and lettered in basketball, baseball, and track...Went the junior college route because schools were recruiting him as a defensive end and he wanted to play another position...Won All-League honors at safety at Phoenix and quickly recaptured the attention of college scouts...Grew up in Brook Park section of Ohio, but moved to Illinois after first grade...Also moved to Arizona at the end of his sophomore year in high school.
