HITMEN TO BROADCAST SATURDAY, MARCH 17 GAME vs. MEMPHIS ON  WNEW
March 14, 2001

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The XFL’s New York/New Jersey HITMEN™ announced today that 102.7 WNEW FM will air this Saturday’s (March 17) home game vs. the Memphis Maniax™. The pre-game show will begin at 7:50 p.m. After Saturday, the remaining HITMEN games in 2001 will be broadcast on the team’s flagship station 77WABC.

77WABC is required to honor previous contractual agreements with the New York Yankees and the New Jersey Devils, necessitating a switch to WNEW for Saturday night’s game only. Next week, the HITMEN will return to 77WABC when they visit their unbeaten divisional rivals, the Orlando Rage.

The broadcast team of Peter Schwartz, Joel Santisteban, Spero Dedes and Jay Saldi will remain intact, with Schwartz and Dedes switching spots for the game. Dedes will move into the booth to handle the play-by-play and Schwartz will head to the sideline. Santisteban will continue to handle color commentary, with Saldi providing additional color analysis. Dedes and Saldi will co-host the pre and post-game shows.

The HITMEN are in the thick of the XFL Eastern Division playoff race and will play their remaining two home games at Giants Stadium on Saturday, March 17 vs. the Memphis Maniax at 8:00 p.m and on Saturday, March 31 vs. the Chicago Enforcers at 8:00 p.m. Individual game tickets are now on sale at the Continental Airlines Arena Box Office, through Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and through Ticketmaster Charge-By-Phone at 201-507-8900 or 212-307-7171.
