Rage survive "Monster" onslaught
ORLANDO, Fla. December 8

Ever since the XFL announced it was putting a team in Orlando on July 3, the “Monsters of the Mid-Day” radio show (WTKS, 104.1 FM) has ranked among the team’s most ardent supporters. And for months, the show’s hosts have asked for the creation of a special “Monsters” section reserved exclusively for its listeners.

Orlando Rage General Manager Tom Veit granted their request. On Wednesday, he announced live on the show that Section 118 would officially become the “Monsters of the Mid-Day” section. Within minutes, the switchboard at the Orlando Rage ticket office was jammed with calls. Within hours, the section was sold out.

“The response of the Monster fans was incredible, but I was not shocked,” Veit said. “From day one, Rage support from fans of the Monster Show has been nothing short of outstanding. ”

“It doesn’t surprise me in the least,” Monsters host Russ Rollins added. “When we heard Vince McMahon was bringing his XFL brand of football to Orlando, we knew it would be the type of football our listeners would want to see.”

In appreciation for the fan’s support, the Rage and WTKS will host a “Meet the Rage Party” on Friday, December 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Tinker Field. Fans will have an opportunity to meet and greet the players and coaches and watch mini-camp workouts. The “Monsters of the Mid-day” will broadcast live from the event. Season tickets, Rage merchandise and concessions will be available.

"We are in the process of opening up another section of seats to accommodate the Monster fans on the waiting list,” Veit added. “We should have that process completed by Friday’s event, and fans of the show will have an opportunity to purchase season tickets in what has become the Monster Corner.”
