JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS SIGN RAGE TE LAWRENCE HART

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Lawrence Hart, who started nine games for the Orlando Rage of the XFL, has become the latest member of the Eastern Division champions to sign with the NFL as he inked with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Hart led Rage tight ends with 12 receptions for 104 yards and one touchdown this past season. His top game came against Las Vegas, when he came up with two huge catches to help the Rage beat the Demons in a week six match-up of division leaders.

Hart brings the total of Rage players on NFL rosters to five. OT Dan Goodspeed (San Francisco 49ers), K Jay Taylor (Buffalo Bills), and offensive linemen Dan Collins and Jason Gamble (both with Dallas Cowboys) signed NFL contracts earlier.

In addition, as least four other Rage players are undergoing contract talks with NFL teams -- including DE Sedric Clark. “I think we took some unfair criticism about the level of play in the XFL,” Clark said. “With the number of XFL players signing with NFL teams, I think it shows that we had a lot of quality players in our league,” Clark said.
