November 21 - Part 1

Milo’s Going to Be a Poppa
February is going to be a busy month for Xtreme quarterback Scott Milanovich (pictured left). Not only do the Xtreme open its season February 4, 2001 in San Francisco, Scott and his wife Jaime are expecting their first child around that time as well. In fact, since the couple lives in New York, Scott almost turned down the chance to play in the XFL, to ensure he would be around for the birth. Luckily for the Xtreme, Scott and his family have worked out a way to put Milo and Jaime close to same place at the same time. Here’s the deal according to Milo:

“Being from the east coast, you know you can’t fly within so many weeks of the pregnancy so I just didn’t know if it was going to work out. Fortunately we have some family in Arizona, so everything should work out just fine… Honestly, I can’t wait. Everybody you talk to says it is the greatest experience of your life. It puts everything in perspective by erasing most of your self-centeredness. I’m really looking forward to it.”

As of today the doctor is predicting the Milanovich’s first born to arrive the week of the Xtreme’s home opener, February 10 against the Chicago Enforcers at the Coliseum. Good luck to Scott and Jaime.

Team X Gets Offensive
Los Angeles Xtreme quarterbacks - Tommy Maddox, Scott Milanovich (pictured right), and Keith Smith - should all benefit greatly from offensive coordinator Jim Barker's (pictured left) air-focused offensive attack.

The Xtreme spent most of this week learning the pro style sets of Xtreme Offensive Coordinator Jim Barker. Coach Barker likes to attack from the air, evident from his days as the offensive guru behind some of Doug Flutie’s best seasons in Canada. Coach Barker is extremely pleased with his three quarterbacks on the Xtreme, Tommy Maddox, Scott Milanovich and Keith Smith. Both Maddox and Milanovich combined bring ten years of NFL experience to LA, a commodity Coach B doesn’t value lightly. Both Maddox and Milanovich combined bring ten years of NFL experience to LA, a commodity Coach B doesn’t value lightly. “It’s just a huge advantage for us to have two guys with that kind of experience. We’re not going to have to teach them the basics. They know what’s going on, they know the idea of coverage. Frankly, it’s just a pleasure to have two guys of this caliber. Plus, the worst thing you can do is put all your eggs in one basket. Next thing you know your guy tweaks his knee and the whole thing goes down hill. With two quarterbacks like Tommy and Scott you can’t help but be better off.”
