Notes from the December Mini Camp
December 13 - Part 1

Ahead, a full report of Day Two of Camp X at the Coliseum. On Wednesday, the Xtreme sign one linebacker but lose another; two potential stars on the Xtreme offense speak out about putting the fun back in football in the XFL; Damon Gibson takes a day off for more important things than football; plus a look at how the Xtreme make a living outside of football. It’s all ahead in X-Spot.

TRANSACTIONS
Signed The Xtreme turned locally to shore up its defense claiming Brendon Ayanbadejo of UCLA as a territorial draft pick. The former Bruin earned first-team All-Pac-10 honors as senior on the strength of his team high nine sacks, the most by a Bruin in a single season since 1994. The Xtreme have now used eleven of its fifteen territorial picks.

(Each of the eight XFL teams have been assigned three schools to chose its territorial draft choices from. The Xtreme were assigned UCLA, USC, and San Diego St. Below are the eleven territorial picks made by the Xtreme to date.)

Brendan Ayanbadejo - LB - UCLA
Rick Austin - OL - San Diego St.
Chris Brymer - OL - USC
Jamal Duff - DE - San Diego St.
Scott Fields - OL - USC
Errick Herrin - LB - USC
Jonathan Himebauch - OL - USC
Tommy Maddox - QB - UCLA
Ricky Parker - DS - San Diego St.
Ramondo Stallings - DL - San Diego St.
Joe Tuipala - LB - San Diego St. (Traded to Las Vegas for Mike Croel)

RETIRED
After much deliberation, linebacker Thomas McManus has decided to leave Camp X and retire from professional football. The Xtreme plan to place the former Boston College star on the XFL’s retired/reserve list. The Xtreme retain the rights to McManus should he decide to return to the XFL.
