XFL Playoffs Matchup: Xtreme vs. Enforcers SPECIAL TEAMS

Jose Cortez is money. The bare-footed kicker has hit 19 of 23 field goals on the year, including kicks of 45, 47 and 48. He's hit on nine straight and hasn't missed since Week 5. Damon Gibson causes coaches to sweat whenever he returns a punt. He broke a 51-yarder and several other impressive runs during the regular season. Punter Noel Prefontaine also plays QB, making fourth down trick plays a very real possibility Andy Crosland (8/14 FG) has become more dependable as the season progressed. Averages 36.8 yards per punt. Corey Ivy (21.2 yards per return) and Roell Preston (19.1) handle kickoff and punt runbacks.

Al Luginbill is the perfect XFL coach. He not only led the Xtreme to one of the best records in the league, but his fiery personality has made from great moments for the XFL's "all access" style. His team wins games, and does so in exciting fashion. None of the Xtreme losses were blow-outs, as he refuses to allow his team to ever give up. Ron Meyer went from the target of scorn to a coach of the year candidate in a manner of weeks. Has the Enforcers on a torrid winning pace and leads arguably the hottest team in the league.

Tommy Maddox is the only QB in the XFL to start every game this season. Maddox has emerged as the clear-cut leader of this team and he demands 110% from everyone on the field. HOME FIELD. The Enforcers team that beat Orlando to close the regular season is a different squad that fell in double overtime to the Xtreme during Week 2. Nobody expected Chicago to get this far, and they'd like to continue proving people wrong.
