Matt Vasgersian - XFL Play-by-Play Announcer

Matt Vasgersian will be NBC's play-by-play announcer calling the network's Saturday night XFL broadcasts alongside analyst Jesse Ventura. Since 1997, Vasgersian has been the Milwaukee Brewers television play-by-play announcer.

In addition to his past four seasons with the Brewers, Vasgersian also handled baseball on a national level as play-by-play on Fox Sports Net baseball Thursday and F/X baseball Saturday night. He also has been the host of "Sports Geniuses," a sports trivia game show that debuted on FOX Sports Net in March 2000. In addition, Vasgersian also hosts the "Toughman World Champions" series for FX.

Vasgersian began his play-by-play career in 1991 in Huntington, W. Va., where he worked for the Chicago Cubs Class-A affiliate. He rose through the minor league baseball ranks with stops in High Desert (Aldelanto, Calif. Home of San Diego's Class-A team) in 1992, El Paso, Texas (Double-A, Milwaukee) in 1993-94, Syracuse, N.Y. (Triple-A, Toronto) in 1995 and Tucson, Ariz. (Triple-A, Houston) in 1996.

In 1995, Vasgersian also teamed with Steve Lyons on the Baseball Across America Tour, calling minor league games of the week for ESPN2. Additional experience with ESPN2 included play-by-play work on both the Double-A and Triple-A All-Star Games in 1995 and the Triple-A All-Star Game in 1996.

He has been a member of the Screen Actors Guild since childhood. His acting credits include guest-starring roles in an episode of "The Streets of San Francisco" and the film "The Candidate" starring Robert Redford.
