San Francisco Demons Team Notes
OUTLOOK
The San Francisco Demons, who cliched a playoff spot by defeating the Las Vegas Outlaws, 14-9, look to clinch the division title as they travel to the LA Coliseum to take on the LA Xtreme.

GAMEPLAN
The theme this week in Demon camp is not to turn the ball over to the Xtreme. On offense, QB Mike Pawlawski wants to be opportunistic with the ball. Last week, because of Vegas’ defense, the Demons were not able to run that effectively and had to rely on the passing game. This week, look for the Demons to get RB Kelvin Anderson involved more with the running game against LA’s sixth- ranked rush defense. The Demons’ potent pass offense, led by WRs Travis Moore and Jimmy Cunningham, will seek to spread LA’s defense thin, which should allow for big runs from Anderson. On defense, the Demons look to counter LA’s passing arsenal with its number-two ranked defense featuring DE s Jermaine Miles, Eric England and LB James Williams.

NEWS AND NOTES
DE Eric England recorded his fifth quarterback sack of the season and ranks third on the team in tackles with 35. England has a team-best eight tackles for losses for 44 yards… CB Greg Williams is the Demons’ only nine-game starter in the secondary, and has been a steady influence on San Francisco’s defensive backfield, playing both strong and free safety….WR James Hundon is averaging a team-best 11.8 yards per catch among the Demons’ regular rotation of receivers with 24 total catches in six games… WR Jimmy Cunningham is the only receiver to play and catch a pass in all nine San Francisco games and he has caught at least two in every outing this year… Since RB’s Juan Johnson and Terry Battle have been out with injuries, RB Kelvin Anderson has rushed for 207 yards as a starter in the Demons’ last three games.

OFF THE FIELD
DE Jomo Cousins resides in Tempe, Arizona where he owns a real estate license and sells mobile homes. His unique name of Jomo is named after Jomo Kenyatta, who was the first president of Kenya.

Los Angeles Xtreme Team Notes
OULOOK
The LA Xtreme look to rebound against the Demons after losing to Memphis, 27-12. The Xtreme will host division rival San Francisco for the Western Division Championship and for the right to host a home playoff game.

GAMEPLAN
Coach Luginbill’s goal this week: “We have to get that passion back. That’s our mission.” On offense, with WR Darnell McDonald listed as doubtful with a calf injury, wideouts Damon Gibson, Damon Dunn or Larry Ryans will get the start. Look for the Xtreme’s offensive line, which yielded only one sack against Memphis, to give QB Tommy Maddox time to throw to an array of potent receivers led by Jeremaine Copeland. The Xtreme will look to keep the Demons number-two ranked defense honest with the running of RB Saladin McCullough. The Xtreme defense will attempt to get Demon QB Mike Pawlawski out of passing rhythm with a strong push up front with defensive lineman Jamel Duff, Matt Keneley and Ramondo Stallings.

NEWS AND NOTES
Xtreme quarterback Tommy Maddox is coming off his roughest outing in the XFL, connecting on 17 of 38 passes for 155 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. The 155 yards is the least productive Maddox has been since completing 11 of 35 passes for 121 yards in Week Four…. Sunday’s game was also the first in which Maddox has not thrown a TD pass since Week Three against the Outlaws…The Xtreme’s offensive line leads the league in least sacks allowed yielding just 14 in nine games…. The Xtreme defense has allowed a touchdown on their opponent’s first or second possession in seven of the Xtreme’s nine games this season….. DT Matt Keneley made nine tackles and one sack against Memphis. Keneley leads the Xtreme in sacks with five… The Xtreme have three players with four sacks or more including Keneley (5); Jamal Duff (4) and Ramondo Stallings (4)… K Jose Cortez has made his last nine field goals and has made 17 of his last 18 field goals….. For the fifth time this season, the Xtreme will be featured as the national Saturday night game on NBC. The Xtreme have won all four of its previous games on NBC.
