Tips for Attending Outlaws Practices

Attendance to Outlaws practices is generally encouraged by the team, and they appreciate your support.  However, there are some general guidelines to follow while you are there.

Practice sessions are generally at the practice fields on the north side of Sam Boyd Stadium.  Flag-ropes are set up to keep fans off the fields; please respect these and stay behind them!  Security is usually present to make sure that nobody damages any equipment, goes onto the fields, or otherwise disrupts practice sessions.  Please be sure not to disrupt the practices, as this may get you into trouble and ruin the experience for other fans.

You may park in the dirt areas outside the fences that surround the practice fields.  Be sure to bring jackets, raincoats and hats in case the weather takes a turn for the worse.  Port-a-potties are available near other recreational areas to the north of the practice fields.  Please do not go inside the stadium grounds unless invited; there are many sensitive areas that are easily damaged, and you may run into legal trouble as well.

Most players do not mind signing autographs after practices, but sometimes they have a tight schedule to keep and may not be available.  The key here is to be patient, and you may have to attend several practices to obtain the autograph(s) you are seeking.  The best place to wait for autographs after practice is by the south exit of the practice fields, as the players return to the locker rooms inside the stadium grounds.  Be sure to be courteous and polite, as nobody appreciates anything thrust into their faces without asking!  I have had great success obtaining autographs from all the players, but it took me quite awhile and I always tried to be respectful.  Autographs are best obtained after practices; during games or scrimmages the players are usually kept pretty busy.

If a scrimmage is being held at a public school, expect to have to pay admission (typically $5 for adults and $3 for students).  I was told that since the school district still maintains the fields regardless of who is renting them, a scrimmage constitutes a special event and admission must be charged.
