XFL Playoff Preview: San Francisco Demons

Demons will go for $1 Million
Riding high after their unbelievable comeback in the first round of the XFL Playoffs, the Demons will make their second visit to the LA Coliseum in three weeks. This time though, there's $1 Million on the line. The Demons are reporting that QB Mike Pawlawski will be available for tonight's Championship Game, but Coach Jim Skipper has not named a starter yet. The NorCal/SoCal rivalry will be intensified this tonight when the Demons take on the LA Xtreme in the "Million Dollar Game" at 8 p.m. ET (broadcast on NBC). These two teams met twice during the regular season, in Weeks 1 & 10, with each team winning on their home turf.

OUT: LB Dave Thomas (Ankle). PROBABLE: T Pita Elisara (Knee), LB Jon Haskins (Knee), QB Mike Pawlawski (Shoulder), DE Jermaine Miles (Ankle), LB Sean Manuel (Knee), S Toby Wright (Back).

MOST IMPORTANT WIN: Leatris Cole recovered his own team's punt and Mike Pawlawski found Terry Battle for a 25-yard scoring pass as San Francisco secured its playoff spot with a 14-9 win at Las Vegas in Week 9.

MOST DISAPPOINTING LOSS: 20-12 defeat to the New York/New Jersey Hitmen at Pac Bell Park in Week 6. Jimmy Cunningham opened the scoring with a 63-yard punt return but the Hitmen came back and started the Demons on their only back-to-back losing series of the season.

An incredible comeback - Demons upset Rage
With Mike Pawlawski sidelined due to an injured shoulder, Pat Barnes lead the Demons on an extraordinary comeback Saturday night. After falling behind 16-0 early, the Demons charged all the way back to win 26-25 and be the first to earn the a spot in the $1 Million Dollar Game.

Early in the 4th quarter, San Francisco CB Dwayne Harper (pictured left) returned an interception 40 yards for a TD to put his team up 26-16. The Rage made a late rally, including the XFL's first ever nine point play, but Pat Barnes completed a crucial 3rd down pass with less than two minutes to go to put the game out of reach.
