Demons fall to Xtreme in Million
Dollar Game There
was no pun intended by San Francisco quarterback Mike Pawlawski
and there certainly was nothing funny about the Demons' performance
in Saturday night's XFL Million Dollar Game, losing to the
Los Angeles Xtreme 38-6.
Demons add two

the immortal words of the late W.C. Fields, the reports of
the XFL's demise have been greatly exaggerated. The newest
professional football league is alive and well and one only
needs to wait at the turnstiles, interview the fans and note
their enthusiasm to know that's the case.
Neck injury sidelines
Quarterback Mike Pawlawski, who leads the XFL in three passing
categories, suffered a neck injury against Las Vegas and may
be out of action for up to three weeks. Pat Barnes is expected
to fill in until Pawlawski heals.
Terry Battle, who just a week before toiled on the practice
squad, won the XFL Offensive Player of the Week Award for
his two touchdown performance that catapulted the Demons to
a 13-6 win over Memphis.
Liberty Bowl next
stop for Demons
The Demons stay on the road when they take on the Memphis
Maniax at 4 p.m. PT Saturday on NBC. Both Memphis and San
Francisco bring 1-1 records into the contest.
